How does your studio reflect your style?
My style is very whimsical and eclectic. If I find something I love - be it the color, shape or functionality - I bring it into my space. Because of this, my space is always evolving and changing. And the work I do in my studio is certainly reflective of change.

What is the favorite part of your studio?
My favorite part of my studio is that it is a part of my family’s everyday life. I love being able to work on client orders and at the same time be present and accessible to my children. I am a mother first and foremost, and my Etsy shop allows me to have my cake and eat it too, which I find to be a rare blessing in today’s world.

What pieces in your studio inspire you?
While many people love to shop at Ikea, I love to shop at Salvation Army! There’s something about finding an unloved item and giving it a home that really speaks to me. These once loved and once forgotten pieces inspire me to keep transforming my old books into something special that I can pass on to my clients. My favorite piece at the moment is a silver plated three-tiered stand I found on one of my recent thrifting adventures. It reminds me of parties and keeps me constantly brain storming for how else I can add value to various events for my clients.

Do you have any handmade or vintage decor pieces?
I have three beautiful teal glass pieces that were handed down to me: two are from my husband’s grandmother and one is from my grandmother. I also have a granny square blanket that I crocheted years ago and love. My kids claim it has healing powers and always request to sleep with it when they're sick.

What is your favorite color palette and how did you implement this in your space? (wallcolor, artwork, items etc)
I am very partial to white backgrounds with pops of aqua, teal, pink, yellow, and green. I am uncontrollably drawn to these colors and they have, over time, come to define my style and spaces. As for artwork, I also own a photography shop on Etsy and display my favorite print, “Birds of a Feather”, in my workspace.

What is the one tool used in your creation process you treasure the most?
My hands. I use them more than I use any other tool. A few weeks ago I actually dreamt that my thumb was cut off and I could no longer make my flowers. It was horrible! Although, it did give me a newfound appreciation for my appendages.

What are the books or magazines that inspire you?
The books with which I work serve as inspiration in themselves, from their various colors and sizes to even their unique fragrances. Each book I use has a history; it has a past. Sometimes I am fortunate enough to buy a book that has bits of its past tucked inside of it. Treasures I’ve found include handwritten notes, an embroidered bookmark, and even an old insurance card.

What changes/upgrades would you like to make in the future?
In the next couple months, when both of my children are in school, I plan to create one cohesive studio where supplies and workspace are together. As it is now, my workspace is separate from my supplies. And even my supplies are split between two different rooms. It leads to a lot of running around, up and down stairs.
